A collection of 8 songs gathered by Lisa Sturz in Benin and Cameroon while traveling with Project Troubador in 2001 is now in circulation!!  These songs all have the common theme of the impact of HIV/AIDS on the people of those nations.  Sung in French, Pidgeon, English and Fon, these songs are rough field recordings that pull the heartstrings and transport you to places where survival is a bit more tenuous.  Songs range from improv sessions with well known Beninian pop and traditional singers to an elementary schoolgirls' choir.  75 copies of this CD was given to Le Centre Afrika Obota, our collaborating organization in Benin, where it will be broadcast over national radio stations.  We will also be bringing 50 copies to Cameroon, to distribute in schools and back to the students who originally sang them.
